About Jill
Hello,
In 2000 I was at a crossroads in my life. I was single and looking for my next career step. I was full of anxiety and excitement as I searched for the next phase of my life. Little did I know God had some big plans for my immediate future.
Although I never wanted to live in Tulsa- I am an Oklahoma City girl- God intended otherwise. There was an opportunity to come work at the Christian Family Institute. Just the week prior to that possibility, I was wondering how God was going to get my future husband and I in the same city. I had been dating a wonderful man for several months and I knew this man would be my husband. The catch was he lived in Tulsa with no intention of moving, I lived in OKC with no intention of moving. Well, I may not be the brightest bulb in the bunch, but I’m not too slow either. As soon as the offer to work at CFI came, I quickly realized this was the path I was to take.
How elated I was to both have the opportunity to date my future husband like a normal person and to work in private practice at such a well respected place like the Christian Family Institute.
It has been almost 10 years since that time. I have been happily married for 7 years. My husband and I have had two sons. Our oldest, Samuel, passed away as a newborn baby. Our second son is Caleb. Although I could regale you with loads of stories of his charm and intelligence, just know we as most parents do, he is a blessing and delight to us.
I am always growing and learning from the people in my life. This includes my clients. Being a persons therapist allows for such a unique relationship. Without a doubt, God made me to do this work which I consider a privilege.
Finally, for those of you who want to know my credentials: My undergrad work was accomplished at Oklahoma State University with a BS in Family Relations and Child Development. It was at Oklahoma Baptist University that I completed my Masters of Science in Marital and Family Therapy. I worked at Moore Youth and Family Services for tow years before coming to Tulsa to work at CFI. I am also a clinical member of the American Association for Marital and Family Therapists (www.aamft.org) and the Christian Association of Psychological Studies (www.caps.net)
Sincerely,
Jill
